Hi, I'm Edgar

About Me

I'm a Chemical Engineering student at UIUC and I'm genuinely obsessed with the world of semiconductors and process automation. I love using Python to model complex systems and finding ways to turn molecular science into high-tech manufacturing. When I'm not working on a project, I'm almost certainly at my espresso machine trying to dial in the perfect shot. I'm just really excited to help build the next major project and solve problems along the way!

Experience

R&D Intern | Rust-Oleum

June 2025 – August 2025

  • Spearheaded formulation of the company's first silicate-based waterborne paint for the global architectural mineral coatings market.
  • Engineered a 90% reduction in product viscosity via advanced rheological analysis, enabling seamless scale-up.
  • Modeled critical ionic interactions within complex coating systems to resolve curing anomalies and boost stability.

Research Assistant | Guironnet Research Group

October 2023 – Present

  • Designed liquid handler robotics for automated high-throughput synthesis of 100+ precision polymers.
  • Automated air- and moisture-sensitive polymerizations using complex glovebox and vacuum systems.
  • Developed a GPC deconvolution algorithm and deployed it as a web app, accelerating data analysis by 50x.

Student Ambassador | School of Chemical Sciences Career Services

August 2024 – March 2025

  • Facilitated 500+ student-employer interactions and spearheaded targeted social media growth, significantly elevating digital engagement and brand visibility among top-tier employers.
